Geographicity
💡 While working on his Master’s in Geography, Victor Ferreira, Inbound Division Coordinator at Auroraeco tour operator, stumbled upon a fascinating idea from French geographer Eric Dardel: “Geographicity.” This idea delves into how we, as humans, experience and connect with the world around us.
Such insights hold the potential to inspire new, meaningful ways of designing travel experiences that foster deeper, more authentic connections for travelers with the places they explore. Don’t miss Victor’s thoughts on this in his REMOTE Seeds session!

How the Lack of Water in the Desert Drives Conservation Efforts
💡 Global warming has heightened the strain on water resources in fragile destinations like Chile’s Atacama Desert. A recent study reveals how rising tourism has further increased water consumption, intensifying a crisis that impacts both local ecosystems and communities. Romina Da Pieve, Explora’s Deputy Manager of Conservation and Sustainability, has shared with the REMOTE Community how the company is addressing these urgent challenges — from actively monitoring water footprints to conserving the Puritama Reserve. It’s yet another pioneering initiative that inspires us all to pursue more mindful and responsible tourism.
