Grateful. We feel grateful you chose to spend your vacation time with us, trusting us, and enjoying our daily activities onboard Mahi. Sailing the Abaco islands of the Bahamas never gets old, especially when we are showing guests around the areas we love and doing what we love to do.

An epic week of racing and fun with friends during the Regattas in The Abacos! Wow, cannot thank these event organizers enough for how much fun we had! Meeting new friends, enjoying what we love to do, topped with 4 wins! Cookie Monster had an overall finish of 2nd place in the PHRF class! 🌟

Turtley awesome!

One of our highlights, when we can take our guests to explore mangrove rivers. Visiting healthy mangrove ecosystems and witnessing an abundance of sea turtles. Mangroves are critical nursery habitats for various marine life & birds. We get the pleasure to float amongst sea turtles, nurse sharks, and more.

Squid Talk! 🦑 The Caribbean Reef Squid displays a complex array of color changes during courtship and social interactions. Here we are, at one of our favorite snorkeling spots. We got a chance to show our guests an interaction with squids. We wave our fingers gently motioning to them, which typically starts the social engagement! Squid are among the most intelligent of invertebrates, the Cephalopods. Which include octopus, squid, and their cuttlefish cousins. They are capable of some truly charismatic behaviors and have the most complex brains of any invertebrate on the planet. It is believed that squids are slightly less intelligent than octopuses and cuttlefish; however, various species of squid are much more social and display greater social communications, leading to some researchers concluding that squids are on par with dogs in terms of intelligence. Unfortunately, it is sad to know that Squid are most commonly used in cuisines around the world, often known as "calamari". And used as a common bait for the pleasure sport fisherman. Maybe we could consider less consumption of these impressive species. Maybe the continued studies at the Koenig Lab to understand their cell evolution in their brains can be applied or aid our nervous system issues or brain diseases one day. Our Story

Sailing charters aboard catamaran Mahi in the beautiful blue waters of the Bahamas islands. Jessica purchased Mahi in November of 2015, at about the same time, captain Brad had just purchased Red Sky, a gorgeous fast red racy monohull. A great mutual friend made the introduction and 2 years later, realizing more time together is easier on one boat, RedSky was sold. We now enjoy winters hosting sailing adventures and cruising the Bahamas aboard Mahi, and summers in Colorado.

Brad is an accomplished delivery and yacht Captain, including an extensive mechanical engineering background. He thoroughly enjoys all aspects of the sport of sailing.

Jessica started a successful photography business in Colorado in 2002, that consumes the summer months photographing Rafting and Zipline activities in a fast paced, intense operation. She is a cruiser by heart, her love of the water, along with her philosophy of live simply will open your experiences to all the ocean has to offer. The two together now host week long sailing charters aboard Mahi www.sailmahi.com and thoroughly enjoy sharing their cruising lifestyle here on our page, and Instagram.
