This year, we are aiming to raise $10,000 to cover the costs, and we’ve already raised $400! With your help, we can meet our goal and keep these horses healthy for both riding and the photoshoots they participate in.

Every year, we bring in a specialized Equine Veterinarian and Farrier to keep these horses in top condition, providing crucial care like x-rays, joint injections, dental treatments, hoof trimming, and more. Both the vet and farrier generously donate their time, and we only pay wholesale for medications. Donations cover the costs of medications and travel expenses to ensure these essential visits can continue.

🏡🌴 Seeking Accommodations for Visiting Equine Specialists on Harbour Island! 🌴🏡

Each year, we bring in a dedicated team—a specialized Equine Veterinarian, Farrier, and Vet Assistant—to provide essential care for the beloved horses of Harbour Island. These horses play a big role in the island’s charm, offering memorable beach rides for tourists and starring in promotional photos for local hotels.

While the vet team generously donates their time, we need your help with accommodations for their upcoming visit. If you or someone you know can offer lodging for the vet, farrier, and vet assistant during their stay, it would be an incredible contribution to ensuring these horses receive the top-quality care they deserve.

🔑 What We Need:

• Comfortable accommodations for 3 people (2 bedrooms)
• Duration: Approximately one week (dates TBD sometime end of January to mid-end February just before peak season)

In return for your generosity, we will feature your rental property or hotel on our social media platforms and give special shout-outs for your donation, helping to highlight your property and show our gratitude to the community.

This is a vital part of supporting the health and well-being of these horses, which in turn helps maintain the unique experiences they offer to the island’s visitors.

The horses that offer unforgettable beach rides to tourists are also featured in high-profile media campaigns for brands like Ralph Lauren/Polo, Staud, (Shake Productions) as well as in promotional photos for the island’s hotels. Though these horses are privately owned, everyone on the island benefits from their presence and the experiences they provide.

Each year, we bring in a specialized Equine Veterinarian and Farrier to ensure these horses stay in top condition. This includes x-rays, joint injections, dental care, hoof trimming/balancing, and more, ensuring they remain healthy for both riding and the photoshoots they participate in.

The annual vet visit costs around $10,000+, covering everything from medications to travel. While our GoFundMe shows a balance of over $10,000, that amount has been raised over the past three years since being created. We need your help to fund this year’s care!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved horse, Tex. Despite months of dedicated rehabilitation for his nerve injury, we made the heart-wrenching decision to let him rest with the dignity he deserved.

Tex was not just a horse; he was a gentle soul who brought boundless joy and love to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His absence leaves a void in our hearts that words cannot capture. Rest in peace, dear friend. You will forever be missed and cherished.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to those who supported Tex and us during this journey:

Not only does she ensure top-notch care for our beloved companions, but she goes above and beyond by only charging the actual cost of medications. 🩺🐎 We are incredibly grateful to have one of the best doctors in the USA treating our island horses. A special shoutout to our equine veterinarian's husband, who goes above and beyond as the horses' farrier! He also donates his services to ensure our horses' hooves are in top shape. Together, this incredible couple embodies true dedication and compassion for our beloved equine friends. We're thrilled to share that our annual equine health and wellness visit was a resounding success! Thanks to the unwavering support of incredible individuals like Kimberly King, Tamara Fredericks Lorey, India Hicks, Michele King Soffer, The Beck Family, Juanita Percentie, and ALL the generous donors who contributed to their fundraising campaigns, we were able to provide top-notch care for our beloved horses. Your donations not only made the annual event possible but also ensure that our horses receive their daily medications, keeping them happy and healthy year-round.

A special shoutout goes to this year's accommodation donor, Jessica Kellogg Seabern. We were so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy her lovely rental home, “Watercolor”, during the visit. And let's not forget to thank Conch & Coconut for generously providing a pink luxury golf cart for our vet assistant during the event – your support truly makes a difference!
