On this 117th National Day, We want to share the story behind our company name, “Lucky Dragon.”

Growing up and studying in both China and India, I witnessed how history shaped nations and their people. From the struggles of colonization to the devastation of wars, many countries endured immense hardship before finding peace and freedom.

Bhutan, however, has always stood apart. Though small and strategically located between two global giants—India and China—our country has remained uncolonized throughout history.
The Bhutanese people have never faced the suffering seen in so many parts of the world. Even today, while modernization rapidly transforms much of the globe, Bhutan has carefully balanced progress with its timeless traditions, earning its reputation as the “Happy Country.”

This is why we chose the name “Lucky Dragon” for our agency.
The Dragon symbolizes Bhutan—the Land of the Thunder Dragon—a land of peace, happiness, and resilience. It’s the same majestic dragon that proudly graces our national flag, representing our nation’s strength and spirit.

At Lucky Dragon, we strive to share the beauty, culture, and happiness of Bhutan with the world.

Happy National Day!
May our land continue to shine with peace, happiness, and prosperity.

Bhutan offers unique experiences throughout the year.
In spring, vibrant flowers paint the landscapes with colors, creating beautiful views. The weather is pleasant, perfect for activities like hiking and visiting ancient monasteries.

Summer turns Bhutan's valleys into lush green areas, ideal for experiencing the kingdom’s agricultural life.

Autumn brings clear blue skies, making it great for trekking and enjoying mountain vistas.

Winter in Bhutan offers a different charm. While higher elevations receive snow, the valleys remain comfortably cool. The clear air provides excellent visibility of the Himalayan peaks, offering a peaceful setting to explore rural life and serene monasteries.

In an era where many destinations are overwhelmed by tourists, making it difficult to capture a memorable photo at popular sites, Bhutan stands out as a unique and serene attraction.
Thanks to its policy of "high value, low volume" tourism and its relatively recent opening to international visitors in 1974, Bhutan offers a truly distinctive experience.
Explore this extraordinary destination, where the rich and unspoiled culture remains largely untouched by globalization.
Discover Bhutan before it becomes a victim of overtourism.
Be among the first to experience its magic before it’s too late.

Great news for Bangladeshi travelers!
Starting June, Bangladeshi citizens can visit Bhutan with a special USD $15 per person per day government tax, excluding land tour and flight charges.
This offer is limited to visas for only 15,000 travelers and once it reaches the cap, you won’t be able to visit at this tax rather it will be the normal of USD $100 per person per day plus taxes .

Bhutan’s new Mindfulness city

Danish architecture studio BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group, in collaboration with engineering giant Arup and urban development consultancy firm Cistri, is set to develop the Gelephu Mindfulness City.
This visionary project will span over 1,000 sq km, boasting 35 rivers and streams, creating a unique setting with a focus on mindfulness, sustainability, and harmony.
This is the vision of the fifth king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
Upon completion, the Mindfulness City will showcase sustainable and value-driven urban development, breaking barriers for future generations.
Situated in southern Bhutan, bordering India, the Gelephu Mindfulness City holds strategic significance, connecting to South and Southeast Asia, opening doors for Bhutan to join the global market.
This venture involves substantial investments in public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and international airports, attracting foreign investments for offices, residences, schools, hospitals, and businesses.
The economic growth generated will benefit various provinces in Bhutan, providing lucrative markets for local products and creating employment opportunities, reducing the need for migration.
The Gelephu Special Administrative Region (SAR) challenges global economic development norms, aiming to achieve economic success without compromising environmental, societal, and individual well-being.
Powered by renewable energy sources and utilizing local materials, the city embraces sustainability and eco-friendliness, incorporating paddy fields and rivers to preserve local flora and fauna.
With a focus on mindfulness and sustainability, the city encapsulates the rich culture of Buddhism, featuring temples on bridges and Vajrayana Buddhism monks.
To ensure the success of the Gelephu project, priority is given to building the skills of the Bhutanese people.
The project's goals extend beyond attracting investments, boosting trade, and creating employment; it includes investments in green technology, education, and infrastructure.
The masterplan encompasses a new international airport, railway connections, a hydroelectric

dam, public spaces, and local building typologies aligned with the nine domains of Gross National Happiness (GNH). Nestled amidst mountains, forests, and rivers,
Bhutan's abundant biodiversity will be amplified, creating a vibrant tapestry of interconnected ecosystems and neighborhoods.
The city's design mimics paddy fields, cascading down from highlands to lowlands, ensuring a seamless blend of urban and natural landscapes.

The Gelephu Mindfulness City embodies Bhutan's commitment to sustainable development and cultural preservation, inspired by the vision of the fifth king, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

A robust screening process will be implemented to ensure that companies and individuals coming to Gelephu are culturally sensitive, respecting our traditions, and aligning with our values.
Invitations will be extended selectively, welcoming only those entities that contribute significantly to sustainability of the world as a whole.

This approach aims to prevent the entry of businesses that could negatively impact the environment and ensures that every invited entity is a positive force for the community.
