Punakha Dzong(fortress)is the second oldest dzong in the country, which was built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Punakha was the old capital of Bhutan and still it serves as the winter capital. Punakha Dzong is located in between the two rivers Phochhu(male)and mochhu(femal)rivers.Punakha Dzong is one of the most beautiful dzong in the country.

Taktsang means the tiger nest is the one of the most visited place in the country. Taktsang was founded by the great ta***ic master Guru Rinpoche during 8th century where he meditated for Four months under the cave. Later on the great spiritual master Gyelsi Tenzin Rubgay built the temple over the cave. The temple is built in the elevition of 3000mtrs above the sea level, which takes 2 to 3 hours in a average from the base or parking.
