According to legend,
Am Jomo was one of the six sisters (some say 3 sisters) of Jomolhari mountain She was cast away from Jomolhari by her sisters because she was not on good terms with them and was given small share of property like The(Turquoise),See(gold),Tsa(salt) and Tea.
All those possession formed into lakes.She was denied the beauty of all the peaks, Snow by her sisters, that is the reason we can rarely see the snow on Am Jomo's Peaks,4700m.
It has a saying"Bjob gay de she ru Dagala Phu mey Choe". It means even of a Yak herder dies at old age,He still doesn't know the area of Dagala.It's said that Dagala area has around 108 lakes and more,The main lakes are all related to Am Jomo, goddess of wealth and Protection, It's believe she protect Yaks, wealth of highlander which are Vital for their livelihood
