"Choekhor Duechen" or "first sermon of lord Buddha" which falls on 4th day of the 6th month of the Bhutanese lunar calander is considered to be most auspicious day that Buddha turns the wheel of Dharma.On this day Buddha gaves the first sermon of teaching in the deer park at sarnath at varanasi and taught Four Noble Truth.

Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche is presiding over week-long Wang-Lung empowerment at Chador Lhakhang of Bartsham Gewog in Trashigang.

More than 8,000 devotees including Duejom Yangsi, Trulkus, Khenpo, and monks are receiving the Wang-Lung empowerment.

Chador Lhakhang Dratshang initiated the religious event which will end on Tuesday.

Lord Buddha's Parinirvana or Duechen Nga Zom is observed on the 15th day of the Fourth Month of Bhutaenese calendar.It was on this day that the Buddha was convinced, born, subdued evil gained englightenment and attained Nirvana.
It is considered one of the most suspicious days for Buddhist all over the world.

The full moon day that marks the five major events is known as Duechen Nga Zom. Dechen means 'great occasion' and Nga for Five and Zom stands for 'coincide".

The five major events are; Buddha is believed to have been conceived, born, overcome the evil forces, attained englightenment and passed away into Parinirvana on this great day.

May all sentient being get free from suffering and attained englightenment 🙏🙏🙏

Bhutan to receive its first tourist next week after more than a year

After more than a year, Bhutan will receive its first tourist next week. She is an American who visited the country in 2019 as well. According to the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), there are many like her who have expressed their interest to visit Bhutan. However, they are yet to register with the council. As per a recent notification from the TCB, all incoming tourists will have to apply through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator. They will have to undergo the 21-day mandatory facility quarantine and also pay the daily sustainable development fee of USD 65 for the period. Moreover, they will be required to bear the charges for quarantine and COVID tests.
