•Capacity building for market access development
•Promotion of agroprocessing and other business linkages in the citrus value chain,and
•Identify and promote joint ventures, collaborations and or partnerships between the citrus farmers.

Botswana Agrotourism Organization Gains Valuable Insights at 7th Africa Tourism and Leadership Forum

Gaborone, Botswana – 3rd - 6th September 2024 – The Botswana Agrotourism Organization (BAO) proudly participated in the 7th Africa Tourism and Leadership Forum (ATLF), held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. The forum, themed “Charting a new path forward for intra-African travel, Trade, tourism, and investment,” provided a valuable platform for the BAO to connect with key stakeholders and explore opportunities for growth.

Representing the BAO were Executive Director and Founder Koketso Tlhagale and Community Programs and Impact Director Ms. Bonolo Natasha Bosilong. The forum’s panel discussions and deliberations offered invaluable insights into the current state of African tourism and the potential for sustainable development.

As a leading organization dedicated to promoting agrotourism in Botswana, the BAO was particularly interested in exploring ways to diversify the country’s tourism sector and create multi-sectoral linkages. The forum provided an excellent opportunity to network with industry experts and identify potential partnerships that will help the BAO achieve its goals.

The BAO remains committed to its mission of promoting sustainable agriculture, diversifying Botswana’s tourism sector, and creating economic opportunities for local communities. Through its participation in events like the ATLF, the organization is well-positioned to continue its leadership in the field of agrotourism and contribute to the overall development of the African tourism industry.
