GOOD MORNING FROM LEGAGA LA GA KOBOKWE

'Legaga lwa ga Kobokwe' also known as the Livingstone’s Cave is situated on the hilly outskirts of Molepolole along the road to Thamaga.

Oral tradition has it that many years ago there lived a man amongst Bakwena by the name Kobokwe. It is said the man committed a crime and was sentenced to death.

After managing to escape his footprints led his trackers to the cave were they varnished at the entrance. It is reported the man was never seen again hence the cave being named after him.

This resulted in the cave being feared and was later used as a dumping site for wrongdoers especially those alleged to have been practicing witchcraft.

The cave has been associated with black power or evil spirits and it was feared until David Livingstone defied the odds and spent a night there.
