From dawn to dusk another beautiful day in the Okavango Delta…

Cha Cha Metsi is situated close to Maun looking onto a lagoon of permanent water. The camp has four rooms with en suite bathrooms, each room is unique in its interiors and has its own aspect of looking onto the water with its resident hippos.

The camp is designed for families or small groups who can create their own experience according to their needs whether it be walking with a guide, a game drive or simply sitting quietly watching the day go into night.

Easter Weekend, April 2023, from the little to the large everyone is important in the Okavango Delta.

We compiled a bird list of over 117, watched a Cape clawless otter mark his territory on a gum pole bridge close to camp, and spent the evenings sharing bush stories under a night sky that simply took one's breath away.

Cha Cha Metsi, is the perfect getaway for family and friends to experience the privilege of being alone in a camp in the Okavango Delta.

We recently had South African artist Arabella Caccia and her husband Johann van der Schijff in camp. Johann is an Associate Professor at Michaelis School of Fine Art and Arabella is a well-known artist whose work can be found regularly at the Everard Read/Circa galleries and Knysna Fine Art. As an Artist and Sculptor, she has exhibited internationally including London and New York.

We loved being a witness to the artistic process and loved having you and Johann with us in our little camp in the delta, your room is waiting...

The Artistic Process
First comes the artist and then the artist with her camera, followed by sketches, and then we move into watercolours. In these sketches, Arabella is using various types of delta grasses as her brushes. But it doesn't end there…

Cha Cha Metsi is an intimate camp in the Okavango Delta, situated in a leadwood forest on the edge of a permanent lagoon that forms part of the main Santantadibe Channel.

Our camp is designed in a way to offer each guest a unique view of the delta from their tent.

We have four tents plus two family tents and a central living/ library/dining tent and a boma, of course...

17 minutes by helicopter from Maun International Airport or a bit longer by landrover, it's the perfect place to start your adventure into the Okavango Delta and beyond.
