Last night, we were part of the country that waited in anticipation and celebrated Letsile Tebogo for making Botswana a proud nation by winning GOLD in the Olympics 200m sprint.

One of the first things you may feel like doing is take kick off your shoes and walk bare-foot on arrival at Camp Chitubu. That is just how homey it feels. This brand new Safaris camp in Hwange National Park is set upon a ridge overlooking a natural spring, guaranteeing water all year round. The dams situated on the game drive routes also provide for an excellent opportunity to catch game coming in for a drink in the mornings and evenings.

This past weekend we got to experience the magic of North Island Okavango. An intimate 3 roomed (soon to be 4) camp in the heart of the delta. We were blown away not only by its beauty, but the diversity in scenery and game viewing experience. With the beautiful combination of both land and water activities, we would recommend it for at least a 3 night stay.

We are excited about the new Desert & Delta Safaris Savute Safari Lodge re-opening on the 1st of June 2024.

INTRODUCING SHINDE FOOTSTEPS
We spent a night here and we could not help but fall in love with this new baby from Ker & Downey Botswana.
Just having been rebranded and rebuilt in May (this year), the 4 tented Shinde Footsteps is situated in the Shinde Concession on the northern edge of the Okavango delta. At Footsteps, you can experience a lovely balance of both land and water based activities. What we loved best is the diversity in scenery, from thick woodlands, marsh, to open wide spaces, perfect for walks. In addition, you can book a helicopter scenic flight right from camp.
It is perfect for small groups traveling together and families as it includes a 2 bedroomed tent. Each tent has both a indoor and outdoor shower and can be configured either into a twin or double bed.

We were treated to a helicopter scenic ride on arrival at Ker & Downey Botswana Shinde Footsteps! This is a must include on your next safari to enhance your whole experience.
With the doors removed, one can enjoy the unobsured views for miles ahead. We saw large heards of buffalo and elephant, huge pods of hippos and everything else in between. A photographer's dream and a beauty for the naked eye.

Our clients today had a great morning at Natural Selection’s Thamo Telele doing a guided bicycle excursion and finishing it off with a helicopter ride back to the lodge. We watched this beautiful female cheetah 🐆 at the game rich Splash Camp - Kwando Safaris in the Kwara Concession for quite a while, until she decided to get up and stalk some impala. #funfact: Cheetahs are blisteringly fast and can reach speeds up to 64 miles per hour in 3 seconds, making them the fastest land animals in the world over short distances. This guy at Kwando Safaris’ Lebala Camp came to give us a quick inspection before joining the pack on a hunt. Fact: The African wild dog is one of the world's most endangered mammals and can be identified by its long legs and irregular fur patterns. Wild dogs live in packs and are extremely social and known to help other members of the pack when weak or ill.
