Throw the bedrolls on board, pack a light simple camp, and go island hoping in the delta on ones safari boat....things looking up with the river right on our doorstep.....one of the reasons we choose to live in Maun....."second push" of water still on its way - if anyone makes it here on safari later this year, we will try get you on the river!

Boteti River, when it was last in flood....could it happen again?....have seen herds of bull elephants 70+ strong at some drinking spots on hot days!

This was probably my last encounter with the famous Khwai leopard that we all knew so well. Unfortunately she entertains us no longer. Wonder how many cubs she raised successfully over the years? Here she raids a barn owl nest, removing and eating an adult and 4 helpless chicks.

Just got back from a safari in India. So glad I did this trip and will share a few highlights. The Sloth bear is a great addition to the "characters" of the "Jungle," and their babies ride on their backs (a behaviour I thought I would not get to see!)

We’re thrilled to have the first passengers of Qatar Airways land in Botswana!

BTO hosted agents from the Qatar Airways routes in November where our Chief Executive Officer, Myra Sekgororoane, launched to the market, Destination Botswana.

Qatar Airways has a wide global footprint servicing 160 destinations. This new development will therefore see an improvement in servicing long haul travellers. Which will reduce their travelling time and connections.

In celebrating the first flight to Botswana, BTO distributed small baskets, woven with passion by women accross the country to passengers who boarded the aircraft in Doha.

BTO has also partnered with Qatar Airways for global marketing in some of their media platforms. Media from some of the Qatar Airways routes are currently in Botswana and will be taken on a tour of some tourist sites.

Thank you to Civil Aviation Authority Botswana for making sure the country realises the arrival of this flight through your facilitation .

Okay, so the Okavango rivers that flow towards Maun are dry this year and who knows for how long.
