devastated by the current drought in Botswana.Still is a wonderful place to visit.
We are in the grip of a terrible drought here in Botswana, bringing home to us the reality of what a drier and warmer future will look like in the face of climate change. River flow into the Okavango Delta this season is the lowest measured in over sixty years and the floodplains have not received their annual flood of water. There have been consequent dramatic movements of animals across the Delta, as well as conflict between large mammals and the death of many old, sick and injured animals. This is a snapshot of our future environment and we need to prepare and implement adaptation strategies now to protect Botswana’s people and precious wildlife.
