We are excited to invite BTIA members to participate in a special training session to learn how integrating tourism activities into the CIVITATIS platform. The training is 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 of cost and aims to equip entrepreneurs in Belize and the wider Central American region with the skills to promote and sell their tourism packages and activities. The session will be led by the CIVITATIS Technical Team, focusing on how to maximize the platform's potential to boost economic growth.

Placencia BTIA is proud to sponsor a Women's Self-Defense Workshop, open to all fitness levels. This empowering session will be led by S. Renee Wentz, an internationally certified expert in self-defense and empowerment.
The workshop will take place on October 19th, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Placencia Shotokan Karate Dojo (downstairs in the same building as Rick's and Tutti Frutti).
It is open to participants aged 12 and up—perfect for mother-daughter pairs!
Space is limited to 30 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is free of charge, and you can sign up at the Placencia BTIA office. Feel free to email: [email protected] or call: 523-4045 for more information.

The IDB and the Government of Belize are working on the "Program to Improve Labor Force Participation and Employability". BTIA engaged with the team on October 10th to explore how the tourism private sector can contribute. The project aims to enhance opportunities for our workforce and strengthen our industry!

The 4th Annual Belize Birding Festival was held at Countryside Park in Spanish Lookout. Attendees participated in an early morning birdwalk where they observed a variety of amazing birds in the area.They enjoyed informative presentations, panel discussions and workshops.There were a wide range of fun and educational display booths and, of course, delicious food and drinks.It's always a pleasure for BTIA to be involved in the planning and ex*****on of such an impactful event which creates a great synergy between conservation and tourism. Thanks to all who contributed to the event's success.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Education, or related field
along with 3+ years of experience
• Experience in design and development of learning programs
• Experience collecting and analyzing data
• Experience in teaching and/or workshop facilitation
• Knowledge of Belize’s marine conservation mechanisms
• Ability to work with young people
• Ability to work with NGOs and CSOs
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high quality work
• Effective time management and organizational skills
