The house can comfortably sleep 6 people. The truly unique thing about our home is the palapa. It is one of the biggest in Hopkins. We have nicknamed it 'The Temple' because it is so peaceful sitting among the tree-tops and staring out at Victoria Peak. Friends have commented on how restorative and healing the space felt to them. If you practice yoga, the papala is a wonderful place to start and e
nd your day. From the back side of the house, for as far as the eye can see there are no roads, no power lines and no buildings. It is very rare these days to get such a raw view of the landscape. We are also quite proud of the detail that has gone into the construction of our home away from home. By using locally sourced materials indigenous to the area and employing local craftsmen we have made a beautiful home that respects the environment while supporting the local economy. The ceiling alone is a work of art and the entire kitchen, bathroom and palapa bar counter are hand hand made from the beautiful lumber found in Belize. As this is a tropical setting, we made sure to have semi-outdoor space on our veranda for dining and entertaining that is screened in yet still open for the ocean breeze and peekaboo view of the ocean. It is so spacious it is really like having a second living room and dining room.
