Its always "all in the details"

Flush seams, accomplished by routering the plywood the exact thickness of the vinyl membrane. Creating a seamless look without compromising the integrity of the seam itself.

Hand stained pine soffit with black vents. Soffiting not done by us but if you need an exterior finisher we know a great one!

Customer chose black skylights, and black pot lights, along with black railings.

I will continue to post pictures as this project moves forward.

We are HIRING!

Multiple skilled labourers needed as our decking company is undergoing fast growth and we simply cannot keep up anymore. Our company builds outdoor living spaces for clients all over the Fraser Valley, please check out our facebook or Instagram (search Arm and Hammer Construction) pages if you are interested in the work we have been doing over the past 10+ years. Currently we are looking to fill two (or more) roles immediately, please see below for more information.

Skilled carpenter needed; would need your own vehicle, tools and have experience in either framing or deck building. Carpentry experience is a must, minimum 2 years. Wage is competitive and this role has room for growth in the future. To be right for this position you would need to be an independent person, someone who can take direction but also take initiative. A quick thinker who can think one step ahead to keep a job moving, problem solver and last but not least a reliable individual who takes pride in his/her work. Experienced carpenter wage would be $30.

Carpenters helper needed; would need your own vehicle, tools would be a bonus but not necessary and experience in any kind of labour work would be a bonus but again not necessary. You would need to be a hard working, reliable, team player who follows instruction well and is willing to learn to be right for this role. Wage is based on experience. There is room for growth in this role as well and competitive wage increases. Starting at $16-$18 based on experience.

If you would like to be apart of a local business who is rapidly growing, taking on decking and outdoor living jobs from Chilliwack to Vancouver, we would love to hear from you. Please send your resume to [email protected] and we will be in touch should we feel you are a good candidate

Jobs are beginning to pile up and we simply aren't able to keep up anymore. We are looking to hire carpenters, a carpenters helper as well as a vinyl installer. Highly competitive wages based on experience, help spread the word and grow our team. Referrals are what we thrive on to help our business be a success so we thought why not reach out to family, friends and past clients to see if they can refer someone to us! As always thanks for the support.

Just finished up our largest Trex deck! 3500sqft of beautiful maintenance free Trex decking on 4 separate decks to take in that beautiful west Vancouver view. This is outdoor living at its finest with 2 built in grills a pool and a hot tub. A bit hard to capture this deck with a conventional camera... I think we're going to have to get a drone to really appreciate this one!

JOB POSTING :
compensation: $18-$30/hr
employment type: Hourly, piece work or contract.

Our ad is for a carpenters assistant as well as an established carpenter looking to work independently as part of the team.

Our ideal candidate would be someone with a keen eye for detail, ability to use hand and power tools, an eagerness to learn and work hard, as well as a reliable, honest person. Carpentry experience is an asset but willing to train the right candidate who already has basic knowledge. Must be presentable, as we have face to face dealings with our clients as well as pass a criminal record check.

Anyone with extensive carpentry experience would be looked at for the position at the head of the new team we would like to put together.

Local deck build After pictures! It was so nice to work so close to home, got homemade breakfast deliveries and lunches dropped off all week. Plus had my boys on the job site "helping out".

This deck was a huge overhaul of the original foot print, we had to re sloped due to pooling. And then we extended the deck around the side of the house and built a new pad for the hot tub. The homeowner chose the beautiful River rock grey vinyl pattern, a great choice for this large deck. Color matched railings will be installed shortly to complete the project. We hope they enjoy their new deck for many years to come!

The time has officially come, we are looking to expand our team! We are looking to fill two positions;

1) Someone who is an experienced carpenter and has a fine eye for detail. Who is able to oversee projects as well as be a team player. Experience building decks would be an asset. Must have own tools and vehicle.
2) A carpenters helper, someone who is eager to work, put in the time and be keen to learn. Experience with tools would be necessary. Vehicle and basic tools would be an asset, but not necessary.

If you can think of anyone that would be interested, please pass along that we are looking! Your support to spread the word would be greatly appreciated.

Excited for what is shaping up to be a great year full of opportunity!

Arm and Hammer's newest employees. They were hired on the spot due to their ability to fit in the littlest places but mostly due to their willingness to work solely for cookies. We had fun visiting daddy and also their uncle at a big local deck rebuild today. Excited to share the before and after pictures on this one, it will be a big transformation.

And to catch up completely on what's been keeping us busy at Arm & Hammer Contracting, we transformed the mossy, mud pit on the side of our property into a gravel parking spot for the trailer. A special thank you to a little 3 year old helper and Shawn Hystek from Mirror Image Landscaping for his Bobcat.
