HO, HO, HO — Santa’s on his way! The Parade of Lights in Annapolis Royal and Official Tree Lighting Ceremony begin at the Courthouse at 6pm on Friday, Nov. 29. Sing Christmas Carols and parade down to Town Hall to light the Town Tree, and then it’s on to Market Square for a visit with Santa, more carolling, cookies and hot chocolate. Bring your lanterns, glow sticks, battery-powered garlands and whatever else you have to light up the night and spread Christmas cheer. The lovely sounds of the Annapolis Voices and Paradise Brass round out the perfect Parade of Lights.

The Victorian Christmas atBaintons Tannery Outlet / Mad Hatter Bookstore ConnMad Hatter Wine Barnnections’ Gingerbread Competition are also open that night. Step back in time, and be sure to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Baintons Tannery Outlet / Mad Hatter Bookstore and Mad Hatter Wine Bar's annual Customer Appreciation Shopping Party will also be held Nov. 29 from 5-9pm.

Don’t miss the Annapolis Heritage Society: Making Connections’ 2024 GINGERBREAD HOUSE COMPETITION! Deadline to enter is Friday, Nov. 22. Your creations must be dropped off at the O'Dell House Museum by 4pm on Thursday, Nov. 28 for judging. Categories for Adults and Youth (Ages 16 & under)

Prizes:
- Top 3 Creations per Age Category (chosen by judges)
- Best Use of Historic Architecture (chosen by judges)
- Most Unique Decorating Ingredient (chosen by judges)
- Best Use of Colour (chosen by judges)
- People's Choice (voted by the public)

Winners will be announced at the O'Dell House Museum on Nov. 29 at 7pm and displayed until Sunday, Dec.1, when the People's Choice Award will be announced. Visit the display during the Victorian Christmas to cast your vote. This year's Victorian Christmas is on tap for Nov. 29 (6-8pm), Nov. 30 (7-9pm) and Dec. 1 (2-4pm).
