5) supporting local programs for environmental conservation (national parks tours)

A flash to the past!

This was my very first job in the tourism industry as a trail guide in Jasper National Park in 2015. I loved the opportunity to connect with people from around the world. I loved being out in nature every day and pointing out the different plants on the trail. I loved being on horseback every day.

My choice to become a travel agent took a lot of reflection. And part of that was looking back on the jobs I enjoyed the most which all had animals but also largely included the tourism industry.

I now currently work at an animal (rescue) shelter, in addition to building up my agency. It's a lot of BIG things but I continue to be excited by the growth and potential that has come with my choice to pursue this opportunity!

Trillium season in Ontario!

The Trillium is Ontario's provincial flower and is part of the Lily family. These beautiful flowers are actually best friends with ants, who are the primary factor in dispersing Trillium seeds!

Although I found this patch in a local park, they can also be viewed at Awenda, Earl Rowe, Arrowhead, Rondeau, Bonde Creek, and Six Mile lake provincial park.

Please note, it is not advisable to pick these flowers as it greatly impacts their ability to survive the winter!

Happy Travel Advisor Day! In celebration I'd like to share one of my favorite places in the world. Mount Robson Provincial Park - British Columbia Canada. This destination has astounding views, featuring the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. The park was established in 1913 and is the second oldest Provincial park of British Columbia. This park protects a unique mountain ecosystem that is composed of 4 biogeoclimatic zones. This feature is truly fascinating to observe as you hike along the Berg Lake Trail (currently under repair) walking through the cedar-hemlock valley, though the sub-boreal spruce, the englemann spruce-subaline fir and eventually into the alpine tundra as you increase in elevation.

This one is definitely on my list for a revisit, featuring a multi-day backpacking trip.
