We love how the Society of Petroleum Engineers incorporated a Stampede pancake breakfast at their Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition this week. Pancake breakfasts are a staple during the Calgary Stampede, but treating your delegates to a stack of flapjacks is a great Calgary tradition any time of year 🥞

Check out local favourite, Rosso Coffee Coasters, in the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre or in Victoria Park next to the BMO Centre. When The MICE Blog visited Rosso's flagship location this summer, they chatted with manager Blake McLeod who shared: "The coffee scene [in Calgary] is thriving right now. There are so many award-winning baristas and roasters in the city, and there is a lot of collaboration going on. It’s becoming a household thing—specialty coffee is becoming expected."

“Two years ago, Sigma Theta Tau International was looking for a location to host it’s 30th International Research Congress in our North American Region. Calgary checked all the boxes: great international airport, proximity of the city to the airport, and safety for our attendees. The size of the Telus Convention Centre and its location with Stephen Avenue was the perfect match for what our attendees look for. Calgary’s Peace Bridge: the most photographed spot in Calgary, and a great place to stretch your legs after a day of meetings downtown.

DYK: unlike most bridges, this pedestrian bridge stretches unsupported across the Bow River. The steel structure was designed to support its own weight, minimizing ecological impact.
