Norway has seen a big increase in people adding it to their must see list - and it's not hard to see why.

With so many spectacular Fjords, Scenery and more importantly the people - Norway should be on the top of your must see list!

Cruising is a great way to explore Norway - giving you the best vantage points of the coast line. With spectacular itineraries and options to add on a pre/post stay - Norway is a destination you won't want to miss.

Travel Tip of the Week - if you've got pets, get their boarding booked early!

Many boarding kennels double as a rescue and are currently flooded with intakes and have very limited space for boarding clients - add to that, the influx of people planning to travel this winter. So as soon as you have your travel dates confirmed, get your boarding booked as well.

The Galapagos is the ULTIMATE bucket list destination for many!

This region is so well protected - the 'locals' have no fear of humans and are happy to come and say hello!

A perfect destination for nearly any age. Makes a great choice for families and couples alike. The only requirement is a genuine desire to see nature at her absolute most untouched state.

Did you know that due to limited docking space on the waterways in Europe, river ships dock side by side and you exit through another ship?

It's actually a lot of fun to see what the inside of other ships look like - while you only see the lobby (or maybe an upper deck or two) it gives you a glimpse into the other cruise lines. Okay maybe only I geek out on that sort stuff.

In case we've yet to meet - I wanted to let you know who is on the other side of the keyboard.

My name is Glenda, I've been in the travel industry for more than 16 years. I've sailed on 10 cruises so far, as well as explored dozens of countries around the globe.

If I was told to pick a favorite destination, it would be hard, I would have to say Europe hands down and quickly followed by Africa. My favorite way to travel is via river cruise followed by guided tours. This seems odd for many, but to me it's all about simplifying the stress and improving the experience.
With a river cruise - you only have to unpack once and yet you spend each day in a new destination. With guided vacations they know all the best spots to get to and the exact right moment to be in the right spot at the right time.

Topping my bucket list currently is to return to Greece, definitely a Christmas Market River Cruise and I've always dreamed of Bora Bora. The long stay apartment stays is definitely intriguing me right now as well - the idea of spending 3 or 4 weeks in an apartment in Portugal, Spain or even the Cook Islands seems like such a good way to really get to know a destination.

I'd love to know what your dream destination or experience is.

Is Africa on your bucket list?

In 2018, we were very fortunate to be able to travel to South Africa. We spent just over 2 weeks exploring the country and taking in all the sites. We were able to learn the history, walk through the vineyards and of course - see these spectacular animals up close.

There is nothing that can quite prepare you for the moment you see these amazing creatures in the wild and free. Our extra special bonus was that we were not even a mile into the national park when we encountered a pride of lions that were so close you could have reached out and pet them. My husband however was a bit concerned that perhaps we had been the bait since they handed us our lunch just before we entered the park.

Have you been to the Netherlands?

I have to say it's one of the most intriguing countries I've been to and makes a great beginning or end for a river cruise. Definitely worth adding an extra night or two your next cruise.
