Hey everyone! With my boys and I living out West again for the past year, I have started to shift my focus elsewhere from my vacation home rental business in Catalina/Port Union. I have no words to describe how special this house is to me and how much care I put into preserving this beautiful time capsule and it's original beauty... It's that time of the year again - lobster season!!! If you're on the Bonavista Peninsula and would like to purchase some fresh local lobster, Bill Donovan and Bob Duffett are your guys! Lodge's Loft will be opening for the season earlier than usual this year! We will open this Easter weekend which as of now is still currently up for grabs with off season rates until Victoria Day weekend. Sometimes it's hard to believe that this tower of green styrofoam turned into this beautiful oasis! For those of you that don't know, Lodge's Loft is fully constructed by using insulated concrete forms (ICF) and concrete! This year I'll be entering into my 6th season in business and what a ride it's been so far! Now open for 2024 summer and fall reservations!

We honestly never know what kind of wildlife we'll see in the Catalina Harbour! For the past week we thought this was a porpoise swimming around infront of Lodge's Loft but it turns out that it's actually a baby Orca!!! 🐳🐳🐳 Photos credits to Jamie Lane

It was so nice to arrive home last night to the beautiful display of brightly lit boats in the Catalina Harbour 🎄🎄🎄 Thank you to all the local fishermen for participating in this and adding so much beauty to an already beautiful view

With very little open on the peninsula this time of the year, I highly recommend dinner reservations at Artisan Inn and Twine Loft Restaurant - Trinity - fantastic local dining experience and amazing atmosphere along with the most stunning views!

I purchased this property in the beautiful little town of Melrose just last year with the intention of it becoming a rental this season but it just didn't happen. Finally renovation plans are coming together and if all goes well, it will join the Coastal Retreats NL family summer 2023 but first it needs a fitting name! I already have "Lodge's Loft" and "Lodge's Landing" - it's now down to "Lodge's Lookout", "Lodge's Ledge" or just simply "Melrose Place". Thoughts and suggestions welcome! Aren't these views just absolutely stunning?! What a spot to watch the whales and icebergs on a sunny day (haha and yes that's a goat you hear in the background 😂)
