Beach lovers, what do you think?

What's your absolute must-have item to bring to the beach?

The photo shows a few of mine - a Turkish towel, a charger that can charge phones and AirPods, and a lanyard for some money and a room key if you are at a resort.

Planning a trip this summer? Unless you are going somewhere cold, you need to plan for the heat.

Here is a photo of me positively melting in Panama at almost midnight. I have been on a few vacations this year where the heat was extreme, and I have learned from those trips.

Don't forget to pack:
- comfortable walking shoes and consider you might need 2-3 pairs due to the heat (i.e. sweat or blisters)
- breathable clothing, either natural fibers or sweat wicking
- hat, sunglasses and more sunscreen than you think you will need
- baby powder or Gold Bond powder can help keep you dry
- anti chafing sticks - people of all ages and body types can get chafing if you are active in warm weather
- water bottle to stay hydrated - remember that you will need to drink more water than usual
- small handheld fan - they actually make quite a bit of difference

Also remember that in extreme heat, your body may not act the way it usually does. Your blood sugar, heart rate and blood pressure may be different than normal. Pay attention to your body and take rests as necessary.
