This past year has brought into sharper focus that the Greatest Generation truly was just that. So many seniors expressed shock this past year regarding the selfishness of so many during the pandemic and how little sacrifice people were willing to make to keep those around them safe - the anti-maskers, the anti-vaxers, the queue-jumpers, the people who thought they were above the rules and looked for loop holes, the constant whining about restrictions while not following them... I agree with them that if there was a World War now, humanity would be at a loss. Few have even been willing to do what it takes to keep people in their own city safe; those same people would not bravely head overseas to fight for those they haven’t even met.

As we remember the 77th anniversary of D-Day this weekend and those who fought not for fame or recognition, but because it was the "right thing to do”, I am more appreciative and in awe of these men and women than ever. Thank you for your service, thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for putting the greater good ahead of yourself.

Was proud to join one of my war veteran clients on Global TV in honouring the anniversary of D-Day, 77 years ago this month. Ernie Wood was on one of the first boats that landed at Juno Beach on D-Day. Only 7 of the 32 men aboard his landing craft made it to the beach.

With thousands of Canada's veterans aging, memories of poignant events like D-Day are fading or disappearing altogether. But with the help of a local documentary maker, families are able to hold on to the most valuable parts of their loved ones: their stories.

An incredible account from WWII veteran Ernie Wood of his experiences following D-Day. As he was driving the army jeep to pick up casualties in the swamps, German SS popped out of the bushes to kill them and steal their uniforms.

This sobering installation of 9,000 silhouettes on a D-Day Landings beach drives home how many lives were lost during the Operation Neptune landing on June 6, 1944, 77 years ago this weekend. The project, named, 'The Fallen' is a tribute to the civilians, German forces and Allies who lost their lives.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2429903/Peace-Day-Reminder-millions-lives-lost-war-artists-stencil-9-000-bodies-Normandy-beach.html

The stunning silhouettes were made by 500 volunteers on Arromanches beach, some of whom joined in the project spontaneously.

Spring has sprung and we’re remembering our time with "wish kid" Kleianne, including her fabulous flower photography exhibit at Front Gallery! Still impressed how Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta turned Kleianne's simple wish into something magical!

This fall has been perfect weather for playhouses, and Wish Kid Clara has an awesome one to enjoy!
