Thank you SingAble Camrose and Ardelle for a lovely afternoon of singing and community. A wonderful way to celebrate Music Therapy Month, and the power of music in our lives.

The month of March has for many years been marked by the Canadian Music Therapy Association as Music Therapy Awareness month. To celebrate, SingAble and the UA Augustana Music Area cordially invite you, your family and your friends to explore the powerful healing properties of music and song through a Music Heals Awareness community sing.

At a time when music is needed as never before to inspire healing, unity and peace, join special guests, Registered Music Therapist, Sheila Killoran, Physician Musician, Dr. Chris Nichol, and pianist, Dr. Roger Admiral.

Lovers of music and song at all ages and stages of life are warmly welcomed to joyfully combine spirits and voices in the reverberant acoustics of the UA Augustana Chapel on Saturday, March 9 at 3:00.

Donations for the Camrose Food Bank will gratefully be received.

Canadian Grief Alliance launched a national public consultation to learn about grief from your perspective. Please take 10 minutes to complete this short survey. Your experiences – what helped, and what didn’t – will inform future work by the CGA to help all grieving Canadians access the support they need, and equip those around them with the knowledge and tools to help.

the next time
you refuse to sing
because you’ll never
fill a stadium
or decline the joy of dance
for fear of looking
ridiculous
or you resist risking
the new adventure
because you’re
not entirely ready or
you dim your shine
because you’re not
completely healed and whole

the next time
you hold yourself suspect
because you’re not
entirely qualified

just remember

a bird doesn’t sing
because it’s talented
a bird sings because
it has a song

the moon doesn’t only shine
when it’s whole
it can show up with
a single sliver of itself
and still light an entire
night sky

show up. sing. shine.
the world needs you
as you are.

The third bunch is a bouquet of blue spiral-shaped flowers tied with a neat pink bow. The phrase “Those with strained mother relationships” is printed under it. The second row of bouquets begins with a bunch of daffodils. The sentence beneath reads, “Mothers with strained child relationships.” The fifth bouquet contains 3 foxglove spikes tied with a blue ribbon above the words, “Those who have chosen not to be mothers.” The final bouquet is a quad of sunflowers, contained with a bow; beneath it, the phrase “Those yearning to be mothers” sits.]
