Giraffes on the move!
We never did find what they were running from.
Hungry lions
The rainy and windy weather this morning provided perfect conditions for the lions to go hunting.
We were surrounded by 9 lions all waiting for their snack of kudu meat. The one up front really liked the intestines which were disgusting but I’m sure tasted delicious.
Searching for the pride
He was frantically searching for the pride. He had walked past them without realizing it.
Safari on foot
This may not seem like an impressive video but let me tell you how amazing this moment was.
Our guide led us on a walking safari today. That’s right- I was walking through the African bush with no truck for safety in sight and just a very knowledgeable guide (who carries a rifle) to keep us safe.
It was a windy day so we had to make sure to stay downwind and not let our scent carry and attract attention. Not long into our walk we saw this rhino and her calf. We stood perfectly still and they wandered off oblivious to the travellers watching in awe.
Everyday is a new experience in Africa🇿🇦
I never thought I’d be this close to a rhino. The guide explained that he was an older male and he would not have felt threatened by us. It’s still a bit unnerving to be this close to something so massive.
Simbambili game drive - Elephants
Early morning game drive at Simbambili.
I can’t begin to describe the feeling of being this close to these majestic animals in their natural habitat. I travel for moments like this.
