While little Sherlock was exhausted from all the Santa Claus parade craziness this week, we are all so excited for Christmas. 🎄❄️🎄

In a way, tonight feels like the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve here with the cold weather on the way AND our new snowmaker is going to be starting to make snow this week! ❄️☃️❄️

As we watch the full moon rise tonight, we can't help but think that soon we will be running our moonlite tours in January and February during those full moons.🌕🦫

Dogsledding at night is an incredible experience that only a handful of guests get to enjoy each winter. From the peace and quiet of a winter's night, to the moon and stars sparkling off the snow - at times making it so bright you don't even need the headlamps we provide. 🌕✨🔦❄️

And then to come across a roaring bonfire in the middle of the wilderness in a clearing, with hot chocolate, smores and snacks to sit and share stories and tales with Hank and our guides and fellow guests. This is the only tour you are guaranteed to have Hank as your guide. 🔥🔥☕

It is an incredibly exciting day here today! For 23 years since our first mild winter, we have discussed snowmaking to help guarantee snow for our guests. Today, it became a reality!! ❄️❄️❄️❄️

A huge thank you to SMI Snowmakers for all the help the last 2 years working with us to make this day possible! 🙏

We are all beyond excited about what this means for Winterdance moving forward. 🎉🎉🎉

Little Sherlock is doing well. 🐾🐶

He is getting quite adept at moving well with his cast. Yesterday, he got his 3rd one on. Next week, he'll have another x-ray to see how things are healing. 🤞🤞🤞

What a treat to see Northern Lights like this in . Even to the naked eye, they were stunning!!!

Poor baby!!!! One of Sydney's little boys had a tough day this week. 🐶 😔

After supper, he and his siblings were rough housing, and somehow, he injured his leg. An x-ray the next morning showed he had broken his leg. 🩹😪🩹

The 1st time in 30 years with huskies, we've had a broken bone.🐕🐕

On the plus side he is loving the TLC of treats and belly rubs, tolerating sleeping with humas as we make sure he stays as quiet as possible so his leg can heal and he doesn't chew off his cast!🤫🍖

He's watching a TV show with Michaela in chinese, listening to Jessica playing guitar and "helping" with emails. While meeting the cats and rabbit. 🎸🐈🐇

Thankfully, we are told puppies heal crazy fast, and he'll be back romping with his siblings in a few weeks' time.🙏🤞🐶

Ohhh the happiness that day brings to our huskies!!! 🐕🐾🥰

October 1st.... While the pace picks up here dramatically after Labour Day, October kicks it up another couple of notches on the countdown to winter. ⏰️🌨❄️

Last few days:
- wood at the sugar shack is tarped to stay dry for maple syrup season. 🪵🪓
- winter sand is stored for slippery driveways ahead.🧊❄️
- new dog box for one truck is almost finished 🐶🚚
- new trail put in for tours🐕🛷🐾
- tiny cabins winterized ☃️

Leaves have really started showing some lovely colours the last few days. Great time for a visit to ! 🍁🍂
