These pictures show storm damage to the Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound and Restaurant. We hope our project provides protection from rising sea levels and storms to this beloved family restaurant.

We hope to increase pedestrian and vehicular access, making the harbour area more accessible to tour buses, for example, while improving the overall experience for visitors.

Here at Hall's Harbour, fishing remains our main year-round industry. We plan to widen the harbour channel, realign the wharves and widen them. Breakwaters must also be extended to protect the boats.

A vision grant from the County of Kings has been extremely helpful in getting our Climate Change Adaptation Initiative started. We hope to see the beginnings of such project in the coming years!

Here are some pictures of storm damage to the west wharf in 2011. The HHCDA has plans in place to keep the wharves safe from rising sea levels, climate change, and increasingly worsening storms.

The proposed project involves the rehabilitation of the damaged sections of the East wharf and construction of a properly engineered wharf extension and break water that will protect the multi-sector user groups of the East side of the waterfront from sea level rise and storm surge, until the year 2100. The new break water ad wharf extension will not only protect the adjacent lands, industries, and user groups but also expand the available space, enhancing the functionality and attractiveness of the area for local fishers, residents and tourists.
