Dear guests and friends!
Just as the last of my indoor bred 33 Monarchs is going to sail off to warmer realms in a couple of days, I would like to thank everyone for visiting our little GEM. It surely has been another great summer at the lake for so many.

Hidden GEM will be shut down by Thanksgiving and reopen in June/July 2023.
I have been taking the first reservations already. July and August book up fast.

***It has been a very sad year for me as my beloved husband Neil passed away
after so many years of suffering***

👋Closing Time is upon us with Thanksgiving coming up in a couple of weeks.
Thank you all for your kind words, lovely gifts and happy visits. Hopefully you all brought home lovely memories of relaxation and connection to nature.
With everything controversal going on these days, it is important to us to make this statement:

But fall is also a gorgeous time at the lake.

Great news: Lorwell Lake got the official Government water testing results back:
1/100 ecoli (fish, waterfowl)
5/100 chlorophyll
Apparently we are now the second cleanest inhabited lake in Ontario!

Who likes to think about fall in August?
Fall colours are so very beautiful up here.
There can be bonfires, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, hiking and little trips to quaint towns, markets, rockhounding, art galleries, sightseeing and visiting/hiking Algonquin Park and getting enchanted by a colourful "Indian" summer.
These are all fall availabilities for now, if you or anyone you know is interested to book a week/weekend/or minimum of two days)

We are thanking everyone who chose to spend a week or days at our Hidden GEM Hide Out this season. We truly enjoyed seeing so many happy faces and hearing kind words. This special lake, the giant wild cherry trees, birds, bees, butterflies, chipmonks and the surrounding forest is doing it every time!
The Japonese call it "Forest Bathing".....

Sadly we just received the very first cancelation and we will miss the visit of a wonderful young family who wanted to return for the second time.

It has been a beautiful summer so far, many warm and sunny days, the lake is very clean, warm and inviting. Guests have been diving off the dock, fishing, relaxing and fully enjoying this little "Slice of heaven".
There is only one week available now: Saturday August 28th to September 4th
if anyone is interested....
