Solum Contracting Inc. is an independent commercial concrete forming company in the Lower Mainland. We are searching for an Operations Manager who is highly motivated, eager to learn and self perform as we strengthen our business model, focusing on sustainability, quality, integrity and safety.
The Operations Manager will perform the day-to-day construction team leadership. This high-performance individual will assume overall responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects within their allotted time and budget. The Operations Manager is responsible for the active coordination of foremen, and subcontractors work efforts during the preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
This individual will excel at sales and networking and have the skills necessary to acquire new talent, manage worksite relationships and source new projects.
-Responsibilities-
Management
Manage multiple projects at various phases and in various locations
Provide regular communication updates to senior management
Communicate daily with worksite management
Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
Interface with subcontractors
Operations
Develop business opportunities and source new projects to bid on
Create a pricing model for streamlined estimating and bidding
Track savings opportunities and cost avoidance situations
Maintain and enforce the highest construction standards and safety protocols
Relations
Develop and/or implement professional development and team building
Oversee jobsite and social media marketing
Assess and ensure employee job satisfaction

Professionalism
Business education an asset
Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Self motivated to reach targets
Leadership
2+ years of project management experience in the construction industry
Strong commitment, decision making capabilities and an ability to inspire others
Able to work in fast-paced, environment dealing with multiple team members
Able to live a balanced lifestyle and model healthy habits
Experience
10+ years experience in commercial construction necessary
Must have understanding of concrete construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts
Red seal certification preferred
