🌟 What a year it’s been! 🌟

We are so grateful for the incredible number of guests who chose to spend their weekends with us in 2024, making it our busiest year yet! From cozy getaways to memorable celebrations, we’ve loved hosting you all. 💫

However, as with many businesses, we’ve faced a few challenges along the way. The cost of property insurance has skyrocketed, and while we’ve worked hard to absorb the impact, the rising expenses for our property and weekend getaway are something we can no longer overlook. We’ve held off passing these costs onto our guests for as long as possible, but unfortunately, we need to make some adjustments moving forward.

Additionally, we’ve experienced an increase in damages that are not in line with the standards we strive to maintain for our guests. To address this and ensure a better experience for all, we’ve made the decision to reduce our guest capacity to 6 adults going forward. We’ve found that this helps with managing wear-and-tear and allows us to continue offering the high-quality stay you’ve come to love. For those of you who’ve already booked with more than 6 guests, don’t worry! Your reservations will be honoured at the rate you booked. 🙌 But any new bookings will need to adhere to the new guest limit and rate.

A quick reminder: alcohol is not permitted in the pool room to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

To all our amazing guests: thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty. We truly couldn’t do this without you, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back for your 2025 weekend getaways. ✨ Here’s to many more special memories together! 💛

🌲 Just in the Nick of Time: A Sharp-Shinned Visitor for 🦅

We almost missed celebrating this year… but nature had other plans! This little Sharp-shinned Hawk swooped in just in time to remind us of the wild beauty that surrounds The Farmer’s House.

✨ Did You Know?

Sharp-shinned Hawks are one of the smallest hawks in North America, they are the size of a Blue Jay

They’re masters of speed and agility, often flying through dense forests at high speeds to catch prey.

Their diet consists mostly of small songbirds, and they can be hard to spot thanks to their quick, stealthy movements.

The abundant wildlife here is one of the things that makes The Farmer’s House so special. Whether you’re hiking one of many trails or simply relaxing on the deck, there’s always a chance to witness moments like these.

Cowboy enjoyed his weekend getaway at The Farmer’s House. He took advantage of our trails where he used a long line to explore the nooks and crannies, and the tennis court, where he got to safely run free and play fetch with his frisbee. He snuggled up in one of our dog crates while his family enjoyed the pool. He also had blankets, bowls and toys at his disposal! Sometimes your pup needs a weekend away too!

If you were following our cat saga this summer, you might recall Cheddar, the second cat we captured a couple of months ago. Today he goes in for his neuter, the next step in heading to his forever home. Big thanks to for taking great care of him today.
Sadly, the third cat was last spotted in the hardwood forest, where a family of coyotes lives, and this weekend a new cat appeared on our security cameras.

Cheddar will be headed to his new home very soon!

🌲✨ We were so lucky to witness a flock of White-winged Crossbills frolicking in the fir trees, feasting on pine cone seeds! These beautiful birds are true forest nomads, roaming wherever there’s a good cone crop. 🍃 With their unique, crossed bills, they’re specially adapted to pry open cones and access seeds that other birds can’t reach.
