The Rooms, our provincial museum and archives, offers a variety membership categories that you should consider looking at. For less than $5.00 per month you get admission to the Rooms, free parking, and a discount on meals in the restaurant and purchases in the gift shop. They also offer behind the scene tours. This past week St John's was home to the Kioti Grand Slam of Curling with professional rinks from around the world. We witnessed some of the best curling imaginable. Home town favourite Brad Gushue's rink did not come up winners but Newfoundlanders still love them. Rachel Homan's Ontario team brought home the Women's Championship for Canada and Alberta's Brad Jacob's lost in the Men's finals to Scotland.

The Grand Slam of Curling is happening for the next week in St. John’s. The Mary Brown’s Centre will host the KIOTI National taking place from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1, 2024.

One of the original events in the Grand Slam of Curling, the KIOTI National features 16 of the top men’s teams and 16 of the top women’s teams from around the world. Newfoundlanders will be watching their favourite son Brad Gushue – Olympic champion - as he progresses through the tournament.

A recent visitor to our St. John's harbour was the luxury yacht "Senses," 195 feet long, with a beam of 42 feet. It sleeps 12 passengers served by a crew of 14. Built in Germany in 1999 Senses was refitted in 2015. You can rent out for apps US$45,000 per day!
