I responded to a post about my new venture for last and this year so I thoughtI would put my thoughts out there for everyone to view. As everyone knows I opened a new trail riding business called Eastern Cowboy Outback Tours where you can bring your own horse for 2 to 4 hours and enjoy our rugged challenging trails on the ranch. To those who supported me I cannot thank you enough and I know the cost of everything last year was hard on everyone. What it boils down to is I cannot compete with the provincial parks when it comes to horse riding insurance and other related insurances horse related. I think it is very unfair that I have to carry a real expensive horse riding commercial liability insurance where they do not have to. Typical government. I posted a blurb last summer about insurance. So once again to land owners you are NOT covered for liability under for example OEF, OE, etc for horse accidents on your property even if you have those liability insurances yourself and especially if people are paying for your services. That is a whole other bag of snakes, even charity rides ,so beware.(For example if you own property that has to be crossed by people on horseback to get to a provincial trail you might want to check with your insurance to make sure you are covered) In any event I do not know this year if I can cover my current insurances I have to have to carry on horse events here on the ranch. I will know by May /24 as to what I am going to do.It is sad that whenever you mention horses to insurance companies they go nuts. I will keep everyone up to date. I have not decided as what to do. Thank you to those who have supported me thus far and over the years .I have made some lasting friendships.Just for everyones info I am open until May so when the weather changes and you want to bring your horses and experience what I have to offer, come ahead!
