"We had a fantastic stay the Red Barn Door home. Everything exceeded our expectations- the comfy bed, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful and tranquil views, and thoughtful personal touches.
My husband and I were looking for a few days of downtime to rest and restore and this home was perfect for us. We had the right mix of tourist activities and downtime. The local golf course is fantastic! The location is quiet and serene. Nancy is a fabulous host- I highly recommend!"

The Red Door Barn is more than just a getaway; it’s a labour of love and a tribute to Nova Scotia’s rich history.

This property was once home to grazing sheep, tended by local fishermen who worked both the land and sea. The rock wall lining our driveway is the last standing reminder of that era, a small piece of the hardworking legacy we’re proud to honor.

We are thrilled to share this heartwarming review from a recent guest!

"Our family had an unforgettable stay at the Red Door Barn! Nancy and Darren have truly created a unique and beautiful space that feels like a peaceful retreat. You can tell they put so much thought into every detail, and we kept noticing little touches that made the space extra comfortable. Even though it was chilly and a bit windy during our visit, we were able to enjoy the screened-in porch—the enclosed ends kept the breeze out perfectly.
The design and interior were stunning; my partner even took notes for our own home renovation! Nancy and Darren were wonderful hosts, communicating regularly and going out of their way to be accommodating. They even offered early check-in and late check-out, which we really appreciated.
The highlight for us was the incredible beach. It was huge, felt almost private, and our dogs had the best time running around. We spent most of our stay on the property because it was just that relaxing. We’d highly recommend the Red Door Barn and hope to return!"
