Pssst! Tell your ice fishing friends, don’t keep it a secret! 🤫

Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) are not just a summer thing! They can enter bodies of water in the winter as well.

Here is how you can stop that from happening:
🐟 Clean: Keep all ice fishing equipment free of any aquatic plants (such as weeds), mud, and water/ice
🐟 Drain: Drain any residual water on land away from the lake
🐟 Dry: All equipment must be dry before being used in RMNP (free of water/ice)
🐟 Decontaminate: If equipment is coming from a control zone or area with known AIS, it must be decontaminated prior to being used in RMNP. One way this can be achieved is by letting gear freeze outside for 3+ days at -10°C or colder.
🐟 Still not sure if your equipment is AIS free, you can give our staff a call at (204) 396-4579
