We are once again offering 4 free guided hikes in partnership with HikeNS and the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark. Our first hike is scheduled for January 18th. Destination: Thomas Cove. Hoping for snow to strap on our snowshoes.😁

Hike Nova Scotia and 23 host organizations offer the 2025 Winter Guided Hike & Walk Series across NS. There are 44 hike, walk or snowshoe events led by local folks and participants qualify to win trail prizes. They are free or low-cost events and some require pre-registration. Hike NS thanks its partners on the ground for organizing the events as well as Goose Lane Editions, MEC, and the Nova Scotia Government Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage for their support. The series is linked to the Take the Roof Off Winter initiative .

Field Leader - Winter Leadership module, Parrsboro Jan. 11, 2025

The Field Leader - Winter Leadership module will be held on Saturday, January 11 in Parrsboro. A prerequisite for taking this module is the Field Leader - Hiking certification. This nationally recognized module will train participants to lead in low-risk winter environments as defined by the Outdoor Council of Canada (OCC).

The cost is $100 (plus 15% off for paid Hike NS members). Cumberland County residents get a 50% discount. It is delivered by an OCC-certified instructor and offered through Hike NS in partnership with the OCC and supported by the NS Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.

Anna has been instrumental in creating the Hike Nova Scotia Cliffs of Fundy Hiking Badge and has led numerous hikes within our Geopark, showcasing the beauty and diversity of this incredible area. She recently wrapped up an amazing fall hiking series and is already planning for winter sessions—stay tuned! ❄️
