Wine weekend perfection.
Our group of four had a ridiculous amount of fun with Scott. He is so passionate about the region, and full of knowledge. It was nice to be with someone who wasn’t stuck up about wine, and appreciated the fact that we were definitely looking for a fun day. The extra touches; bringing a ton of water, a few snacks for a nice break and his award winning personality were just what we needed. I have recommended Scott to everyone I know that says they are heading to the Okanagan. Thanks again Scott! We think you're great!!

Beyond Amazing
Scott is next level. He is an excellent conversationalist, super funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. Four of us ladies spent the day with him and had not only a really relaxing and chill day but also learned a lot about the region, the people, and most importantly, the wine. The personal touches he added like chilled water and a snack break were just the sprinkles on top of an awesome day. I have recommended him to at least five of my coworkers and loads of my friends. I will not tour with anyone else and you will not regret touring with him. Honestly, one of the best days I've had in a long time!

What a great tour!
Scott did such a great job with our wine tour! The timing was excellent, and his knowledge of the area was fantastic!! We were all (4 adults) very comfortable in his vehicle, and there was plenty of room for our many many purchases! Thank you, Scott for a great time! See you again soon!

A great way to finish a wonderful tour. Four wineries, one distillery and, Hugo's favourite, a brewery. A real bonus was seeing people whom I toured last year and earlier this year. My guests are lovers of all things beautiful and flavourful.

The tasting room here is gorgeous on a sunny day. You can sample their lineup at an outside bar. Nice way to finish the day. Awesome people once again. Thank you Teresa, Todd, Shane and Melisa. You made the last two days "uniquely" fun.

My guests were asking to visit here and to sample the premium tasting Little Engine has to offer. Tasting their Gold and Platinum level. More anc more wineries are offering special tasting options. Serendipity Winery, you can visit the vineyard and cellar with either the winery owner or wine maker. TIME Winery & Kitchen, in downtown Penticton, offers a great specialty tasting event as well. All cost a few dollars more more they're worth every cent.

Last weekend Penticton hosted the 18th annual Elvis Festival. Over 80 Elvises(or is it Elvi) compete. Major attraction for the Town. And to see Elvis at the beach is very interesting.

We also had the Rotarty Ribfest which draws any amazing number of BBQ lovers to the Four competitors who were offering their best.

I've not posted for a very long time, I thought I'd give everyone a break of me boasting about the Southern Okanagan region. But I'm BACK!

Today is my second day with two nice couples from Vancouver and the Victoria. Yesterday was the Oliver Osoyoos region and today is the Naramata Bench.

Penticton is just finishing their Gran Fondo bike race 2700+bikers creating traffic challenges but this one is better organized than the others Penticton hosts. Next year marks the return of the International Ironman. One of their favourite stops on their circuit.

We've also been hosting a B25 Mitchell and a B17 Flying Fortress, offering rides ( very reasonably priced) either seated in the fuselage or the front navigator bubble. We've been seeing them tour from Penticton to Kelowna.

Yesterday was a great day but I was admits in posting a few stops. Ruby Blues Winery, as always was busy and fun. Great wines including 2018 best sparkling wine in Canada. Off to Hillside Winery & Bistrowhere we had a great tasting with Jeanie (I truly an sorry if I hit the name wrong), a young lady who's only been there for three weeks but she has an incredible knowledge of product. This is also where we had a bit of a snack I brought. Off to Lake Breeze but were very surprised by their early closing hours on a Saturday. So, off to Cannery Brewing for the gentlemen and the ladies and I went to TIME Winery & Kitchen, though we weren't there long, they all had a great time. Finished the day by doing them at Salty's Beach House.
Excellent tour. Excellent people. Thank you for letting me show you this great area Cheryl, Jeff, Crystal and Jason. Safe journey back to Vernon and Chilliwack.

"Congratulations Scott!

McKinney’s Wine Wagon has been nominated for the New Business Award, sponsored by Valley First Credit Union."

Well. This was another surprise we found out about just the other day. The "New Business Award" nomination is available to businesses open for less than three years, and as we're just about to finish our second season of touring the Southern Okanagan region wineries, we fell into that category perfectly.

Both this award and the Service Excellence award that we've been nominated for, truly validate all the time and effort Linda and I have put in to create this boutique-style wine touring operation. And the best part is, we love doing it! The actual ceremony, The 31st Annual Business Excellence Awards, takes place on October 13th here in Penticton.

Once we hear the results, we'll definitely post.

Congrats!

CONGRATULATIONS Scott and Linda!!

McKinney’s Wine Wagon has been nominated for the “Service Excellence Award” sponsored by Fortis BC for the 2018 Business Excellence Awards presented by TD Canada Trust.

This was the announcement from the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce that Linda and I received just a few days ago. We couldn't be more surprised, or proud, to have been nominated for this award. Incredibly excited ! We've worked hard and after fighting through fires, smoke, floods and the possible sighting of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, we still met incredible people from around the world. I have the best job ! I get to tour some of the most beautiful wine regions in the world. Thank you to all who have helped us achieve this nomination.

The Wine Wagon is about to surpass a milestone. Less than ten kms from the 100,000 mark. Still the best vehicle I've ever had. The guests love it as much as we do. I still can't believe it was "blinged out" like this when we bought it, just a little over three years ago. It certainly doesn't blend in with any other type vehicle here in the southern Okanagan. Like our tours, it's one of a kind.

After a small picnic at the beach in Naramata, we visited Katie and Judy at Serendipity Winery followed by a few other stops. Second to last was Maple Leaf Distillery where Barbara looked after my guests while Jorge toured me around his upgraded cellar.

As we headed back to the motel on Main St. where Carlene and Trevor were staying, we finished at Old Order Distilling Company. First time in a long time since I've visited. Incredible vodka and a unique gin that I just had to buy. Jodi was kind enough to tour us through the actual Distillery behind the bar.

Both distilleries are excellent and both completely different. Highly recommended them on your next trip to Penticton.

Having already visited Elephant Island Orchard Wines and Deep Roots Winery, we're at Lang Vineyards to sample the Marachel Foch. This is the view from their tasting room. Notice the lack of any smoke in the region. Please tell your friends and families that this area is still safe to travel through and to enjoy the venues we have to offer. Excellent wineries, distilleries and breweries to sample their wares.

I can't tour the Corkscrew Drive without visiting our neighbours at Pentage Winery. Over twenty five varietals are grown here creating 24 wines they have in their portfolio. Overlooking Skaha Lake makes for the perfect place to taste great wines.

Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars is another picturesque Winery and vineyard. They added a great area for private tasting and picnics. Perfect place for a small snack I bring along on our tours. They also make incredible sparkling wines.
