Ants follow a pheromone trail that takes them from food source areas back to their nest... or from a host nest to satellite nests (found often in a structure wall). This video shows an ant carrying Ant bait to their nest...as well as, ants without food following the same pheromone trail.
What's out there right now? Odorous House Ants! For the past month or so, the Ant has invaded many homes. David use to call them horrible hoarders. They would over populate their winter food supply by the end of February & invade the unexpected home. They are a moisture loving ant, often found in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, etc where they are searching for food.
