It has been another incredible year managing our Airbnb, Oceanside Manor. We were often busy and sometimes unable to accommodate all our guests due to being fully booked. However, we received numerous wonderful reviews from those who stayed with us. One of the most heartfelt came from Lynda. At 75, she had recently lost her husband and was searching for joy again, feeling it was difficult after such a loss. To find happiness, she decided to take a trip alone, and her son booked our Ocean Room for five nights.
Martin and I were unaware of her story at first, but we welcomed her like family. One evening, we prepared a Thai dinner for her since we couldn't provide breakfast that day, and we spent quality time together, assuming she might be feeling lonely. Lynda and I enjoyed a stroll along Judges Row, where she shared her heartfelt story about her husband, bringing tears to our eyes.
Before her departure, she expressed a desire to learn how to cook Thai food, so we gifted her my favorite Thai cookbook. She was overjoyed! Before leaving, Lynda wrote a touching message in our guest notebook, and now we share a friendship. She mentioned that she found her happiness again during her stay with us, which truly warmed our hearts.
For Martin and me, this isn't just a business; it's a life-changing experience. Making a difference in someone’s life is incredibly valuable to us. Life is short, and it's essential to show kindness to one another every day, as we never know what others are facing. Let’s choose love, kindness, and happiness. ❤️
