Busy bees are buzzing all over the beautiful pink blossoms of our heather plants here in our pollinator-friendly perennial garden. The nectar from the heather plant contains a natural "bumblebee medicine", which protects the bees from a harmful parasite. This chemical is called callunene and it is highly concentrated in heather nectar.
