We just saw blows and breaching backs.

Happy Victoria Day weekend, great weather here.
Try Muir Creek parking area for a hike by the creek and the ocean, crab boat close in here, low tide at French Beach walk and the beach trail at French Beach finally got reopened after the December storm.

The BC government is making big changes
for short term rental business owners.
They want to make more homes available for the housing crisis.

Changes

1. Short term rental owners must live on the property to be eligible to rent.
We are ok.

2. If you don’t live on the property you can only rent for 3 months or longer terms.
Not applicable to us, but a big problem for availability this year
and a big problem for people that used short term rental income to make their vacation home more affordable.

3. Short term rentals may not have stoves. We have to remove 2 of our beautiful Blomberg induction ranges.
We will still have our refrigerator, dishwasher, Keurig coffee machines, toaster, toaster oven, outside BBQ/grill (can be used as ovens if needed).
We will probably add a 2 burner hot plate and a larger convection oven.
There should be no problem cooking, just a bit different.

4. All short term rentals must have a licence and inspection by May 1 before they can be listed in advertisements, Airbnb, VRBO, etc.
We are closed temporarily now while completing some changes and waiting for our inspection and licence.

We are making some landscape and deck alterations for your enjoyment.
Huge waves in a December storm washed away part of our ocean stairs,
the small lower stairs sections on the left and right sides
disappeared one night.
We are repairing that problem now.

The 30 foot waves were amazing until the damage started.

We look forward to seeing our repeat and new guests this season.

Friday, had great day on a whale watching boat, took phone photos but we were to far away to get good ones,
These are similar to what we saw but taken by Captain Roman Podhora in Telegraph Cove.
