2017 cfmoto 800 in for engine problems.
Customer states engine started to knock then just quit.
Apon opening up the engine we found lots of signs of copper in the oil filter. Went further found the slippers destroyed.
We pulled the stator cover to find the magnets all delaminated and sliding around.
Diagnosis flywheel failed filling the oiling system with magnetic partials that cleared out every bearing, cam Slippers and a whole bunch of other parts in the engine.
Costly mistake for something that had tell tail sign long before it siezed

What we learned today?
Just finished a Polaris 600 topend.
To this point we had used a few products from a company called Niche.
Long story short. 10 minutes and the side came out of the cylinder bore.
Now after doing some research on their cylinders we have found less then subpar ratings.
Be very cautious using there parts. This one measured out ok but the metallurgy is not up to standard.
I always say it's a good day when you learn something.
I hope my lesson saves you a repeat of this failure.

Some 1000 turbo Xmr action today.
Customer complained that under hard throttle/boost his Xmr would push coolant out of the reservoir.
After removing head and checking the head for warps we found a 0.003th out of spec surface.
A few passes on the mill straightened it right up.
The addition of 10mm studs and a ML head gasket will greatly increase the sealing and clamping ability over factory design!

The lethargic low hp 650has now been removed. Won't be long and the new motivator will be residing in it's new home.

Has a inherent issue in there head design.
Many shops just through a new head gasket in and send it out.
Over the last 5 years we have
Found the warp that happens and the lack of proper head bolt location requires the head to be milled flat.
