January 25th we begin renovations on the two bedrooms. Unfortunately the flooring we put in about two years ago hasn’t held up well. So, we plan on upgrading insulation, flooring, new paint colors and new room layout while we are at it! I’ll be adding some before and after photos! We hope to make it a more comfortable stay for our guests. 💕🏠.

Added a bench to the hill behind the Airbnb and the field is filling in nicely with grass. Perfect place to take a stroll and sit and listen to the waves lapping at the shoreline, or watch a cruise ship pass by. Still some availability this fall!

Enjoy watching the cruise ships sail into port in the early morning and back out the harbour in the evening . October sees the most cruise traffic.

Received another lovey review from a recent guest who traveled to the area with her sons. Blessed to have been able to host some wonderful people over the past couple of years and provide a comfortable place for them. New patio, complete with BBQ, available now for guest use. Tucked out of the way from the main house allowing for plenty of privacy for guests.

Installing a new guest patio at the Airbnb. It will include a BBQ grill and some seating so guests can take in the scenery. Framing is done, now to put on the deck boards and a decorative rope railing.

Beautiful time of year to come stay in South Bar. Take a walk to our rocky shoreline early in the morning to see the deer, cranes, and loons , or watch a cruise ship make its way into the harbour. Or enjoy an evening stroll to watch the sunset or have a fire on the hillside. We still have a couple of openings remaining this summer and with no minimum nights stay it’s a great place get away for a day to recharge. Check our Airbnb listing for the availability calendar.

We have welcomed several families into our Airbnb since completing the renovation of the kitchen and bathroom and received some wonderful reviews. Looking forward to a busy summer! Lots of bookings right into October already. 💕

New bathroom light, vent fan and bathtub installed, and the drywall is hung. Crack filling/mudding and taping process under way!

The back wall of the apartment has been insulated with a good layer of spray foam to keep things warm and dry. Now the guys are spending the weekend starting the process of putting things back together. Bath tub and vent fan going in the bathroom, building a bulkhead in the kitchen to conceal plumbing and house some recessed lights, and installation of drywall also in the agenda. I’m excited to show off the new more modern and upgraded space to our guests! Wish I was home to help!

Getting ready to start kitchen and bathroom renovations this weekend! Picked out new cabinets, counters, and tiles for the kitchen, and a new vanity, bathroom vent and lighting and of course a new toilet. All the essentials! Looking forward to posting some before and after photos and updating our Airbnb listing details!
