I didn't have any people booked for tours today - the final day I am able to do the St. Peter's Canal and Battery Park guided hiking tours. So I took our dog Matteo for a walk on the St. Peter's Coastal Trail. I am heading to Yellowknife on a work assignment for three months, so Two Seas Touring is shutting down a little early for the season. I will miss Pirate Days this year (: I would like to thank all the people who liked and shared my posts since I started this in the spring. I'd also like to thank the people who took the tours this summer and everyone who recommended them to friends and visitors of the area. I learned a lot and enjoyed the tours I did - although I wish I could have done a lot more. I will try to post regularly here throughout the offseason, and we'll be back in the summer of 2020 offering bigger and better tours I hope more people will take part in and enjoy.

Had my first tour participant from the U.S. - Judy Labbe Huard from the great state of New Hampshire (state motto is ... 'Live free or die'). It was a great afternoon to be at St. Peter's Canal and walking the trails of Battery Park. I really enjoyed showing Judy around and talking about some of the history of our beautiful neck of the woods. Judy, I hope you enjoyed your stay where the ocean meets the inland sea and you come back to visit us again. I guess it was too hot to go hiking at St. Peter's Canal and the trails of Battery Park today. So, the wife (pictured) and I (taking the picture) decided to head to nearby Point Michaud Beach to cool off this afternoon. It was a beautiful day to be there and the water was reasonably warm. Oh, before I forget, tours are on all weekend of historic St. Peter's Canal and Battery Park during the Nicholas Denys festival (even if it is hot 😁). Kind of a weird face by me, but in my defence the sun was blinding Monday afternoon. Anyway, had another great time on a gorgeous Cape Breton day taking this foursome out for a guided hike of the St. Peter's Canal and Battery Park trails. Unfortunately we've had to cancel the July 6 'Surf and Turf' bus tour excursion due to lack of interest. Maybe next year. Starting on Canada Day (July 1), we'll be offering guided walking/hiking tours that will take you through some of the trails and historic spots of St. Peter's Canal and Battery Park. The tour will take approximately two hours and will run from 11 am-1 pm daily . We can take a maximum of 10 people per tour. Seeing a sand dollar is a great find for anyone visiting our beaches in Richmond County on Cape Breton's south coast to adventure.This flat, bottom-hugging creature my mom found at Point Michaud Beach on Friday is a sea urchin that delights the lucky person who finds it due to its beauty and complexity.
