Rabbeted window boxes scribed to the window, installed without fasteners, then trimmed out with a 27 piece seamless ensemble. Giddy up! Perfect reveals everywhere, a variety of adhesives, floating crown lasered straight. A wonderful privilege to work on such a high degree of custom detail.

Grooovy. Biscuit joined laminated knotty pine throughout, full dado&rabbet frame joints, half blind dovetails on the drawers, embedded stop dado drawer slides, biscuit joined local spruce feet. Framed stained with special walnut to match other furniture I've built, whereas with the drawers I got creative using rubbing alcohol and food colouring to create a spiraling rainbow to highlight the fibonacci based design of the whole unit. Fibonacci, it's as easy as 1, 1, 2, 3! My magnetic handles idea didn't work quite as well as I had hoped so I ended up matching some pine k***s with colour.

Brigus, what a peaceful place to work! I came to build a mantel, I stayed to finish their home away from home. Tile underlay, baseboards, door fabrications and installations, closet set ups, bulkheads, range hood install and trim modifications, sink cutout, and I was almost out the door when they decided their 6x6 posts could look better out front.

We used only 3-1/2 sheets of MDF to fabricate the mantel, doors, and bulkheads; and using vinyl trim boards outside, they never have to paint their posts.

All in all the light at the end of the tunnel has never been closer for the Harris clan to start moving in!

It's never too early to introduce the Golden Ratio into your children's lives right? Our kids are getting older and they have so much clothes that we needed more storage, so I came up with this dandy rig. Having a mere 4.6 square foot footprint but packing a little over 21 cubic feet of storage, I decided to have a bit of fun using the Golden Spiral design based on the fibonacci sequence, as well as full dado and rabbet frame joints using biscuit joined knotty pine shelving.

I was also itching to try something new so I decided to use half blind dovetail joints on all drawers with stop dados for slides. I also couldn't find the right size plate, in town, to attach my bushings to my router so I ended up playing engineer for a day, or constructioneer if you prefer. The feet will be milled from local spruce and fixed via biscuits.

Gorgeous.

Not quite finished yet but almost there. Drawer slides to be mounted and I also plan on using magnetic pull to keep our little mountain climbers grounded. Finish update to come!

Simple, elegant, stylish. 42"x16', maple on maple on steel fab legs. Topped with linseed oil and wipe on polyurethane, and brought to a silky smooth finish. Classic beauty.

Happy Spring, folks! I know the Earles are certainly happy with their springtime home transformation!

New hardwood floors throughout their second level with sharp looking(&waterproof) vinyl tiles in the bathrooms. Door boxes and casing trimmed tight, and baseboards completely salvaged, cleaned up, and reinstalled.

Then on to their new main entry focal point - their new stairs! We actually just dressed up the existing stairs with faux stringers, gorgeous new posts, and beautiful trimwork. 98% of the trim used was milled on site for a truly unique touch. New posts were boxed out around the existing posts. Rails were reused with trimmed ballusters. Just imagine what I could do for you with only a few sheets of mdf!

Almost there! Spectacularly new dressed up posts boxed out over the old existing posts. A few sheets of mdf is all we need to revitalize your stairs or any part of your home or office! All trim was milled on site from the same sheets the stringers and panels were cut from with exception to the little crown under the caps.

Happy New Years, folks! The interior work season is well under way, contact me today to get your free estimates! Sulis Subsea Corp are sure glad they contacted me when they did, their new warehouse workshop is finally ready for paint and move-in ready. 240 sq.ft. of extra mezzanine floor space plus a 100 sq.ft. platform over their underwater test tank, added partitions to create a couple more offices and storage room/nook as well as their eat-in kitchenette. Modernized windows & doors, jambs, and trim; 1000 sq.ft. of new water resistant laminate flooring; and who can forget the 250 sq.ft. of bench top work space with over 100 linear feet of added shelving!

Happy end of November folks! As the year's coming to an end, clients are still getting their decks in before the frost hits. New deck with a couple finishing touches left, office framing completed, almost 200 sq ft of bench top work space built with well over 100 sq ft of storage with even more to come! Then one weekend I decided to squeeze in 250 sq ft of hardwood flooring which turned out gorgeous; choose your type of flooring well and even the untouched ceramic tiles will seem like new floor.

Happy Hectic Fall Folks!

It's Only Wood is flat out! Classic clapboard, rot, cabinets, renos, havin' a time!

120 year old home getting spruced up with new clapboard, new patio door, and then all of a sudden, a whole new basement wall. While I had a 16 foot wide hole poked in the back basement wall of a beautiful 3-storey town home, we decided to toss in a new concrete door sill, utility door and egress compatible window. Custom milled full 2" spruce lumber used where needed as well to match existing joist system.

Beautiful built in set of cabinets with custom made spruce counter top. This was their second built in made by yours truly. Custom glass panel doors, faux shaker style doors, and custom removable crown moulding to access power points.

Gettin into a commercial reno now with more pictures to come. Catchin others' mistakes on the fly, remedy and move on. Giddy up!

In with the new, in with the old!

Happy fall folks! Beauty days are still upon us! Another fine example(s) of what not to do when building decks. After some restructuring, re-leveling, and post relocations, this beauty deck was back to sitting level, flat, and true - ready for some fantastic upgrades!

New deck boards (not fence boards) laid in a split 45 degree manor, new vertical skirting, 6" decking built out to accommodate the new 14" wide post bottoms, fluted post tops with glued and clamped post caps. Doorbell wired through post and house resealed. Custom jigs made specifically for this job ensures consistent perfection when creating fluted patterns - everything milled and fabricated on site!

Best of all was how much we were able to salvage. The entire deck structure, posts, and railings were all reused to cut a hefty materials and labour cost out of the picture.

Happy Summer Folks! Good old technology, Facebook no longer lets my phone make posts because the last three I published are not showing. Hopefully this one will make it..

Another happy repeat client got their new custom storage cabinets/custom closet. Shaker style doors, featuring blumotion soft close hardware and awning pistons. Open back cabinets and bare bones closet organiser brought to a sanded finish and left raw for a family paint project! Modified trim and hidden anchors make these units aesthetically pleasing as well as super functional! Offering up over 80 cubic feet of storage while taking up a mere 8 square feet of floor space; as a reference, the average household door's swing path takes up 14 square feet!

Wicked weather to replace some rot! New decorative custom deck posts, rails, and stairs. New 17' 3-ply LVL garage door header replaced too.. somebody forgot to install their drip cap 15 years ago.

Happy Summer Folks! It's been a busy spring so far and things are only picking up for summer! Having lots of fun in the sun building beauty decks, deck/shed combo, innovating ways to save my back fencing, a bit of Cape Cod, and so on and so forth! Restoring classic beauty to some water damaged plaster moulding in historic downtown St. John's as well as restoring functionality to aged deck/shed combo(w/wheelchair access) and storm damaged properties.

This old dog learned how to make collages too featuring a complete bathroom gut job adding a shower unti, whirlpool bath. 24 sq ft extra floor space and add access from the master bedroom. The other collage featuring a beautiful set of cabinets and gorgeous jet black epoxy countertops for Quidi Vidi Brewery.

A gorgeously grained and built toddler's rocker for my baby girl's 2nd birthday. Handcrafted without any fastener from local juniper(tamarack/great eastern larch), felled and milled in the Goulds, and then worked by yours truly after extended curing. Design on the fly, working with very limited semi live edge boards using mostly mortise and tenon joints with a few rabbets and dadoes. Simplistic functionality finished with softened edges, scalloped seat, and a glass like finish using a handmixed topcoat.

Fun fact: the beautiful green toned heartwood is typically only found on the eastern Avalon, according to the sawyer who cut and milled this wood, who's been harvesting and milling wood for over 50 years.

A nice little restructuring basement reno. Taking advantage of basement space to bring your work home permanently. Creating a large open spaced salon with a few minor structural modifications, per city issued guidelines, as well as soundproofing with soundbatts and resilient channel. Ready for the plumber and electrician, and then back for the finishing touches to make this beauty shine!
