Flòraidh ni'n Sheonaidh 'ic Sheonaidh 'ic Mhurchaidh nair maireann. My dear sweet friend Florence Anne MacIssac has passed. What a wonderful life with so many friends and family she leaves behind with our beautiful memories. I am always praying for you Flòraidh. It was an honour to know you.

Fool's Cafe and Fool's Fabric Boutique. A brand new state of the art cafe, (with a very fine espresso machine) and adjacent fabric studio in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia with big views of the East River. While looking for beautiful fabrics in Pictou County I discovered this new business! Recently back home from many adventures Cheryl McCarron (hope I spelled that correctly)bought and beautifully renovated a heritage house with her close family and I can't wait to get back there. She offered me a perfect americano with homemade biscotti, and we sat down for a great chin wag. It's her dream to encourage more folks to make their own clothes, expressing original exciting fashion. She sells everything you need including sewing machines and silk fabrics from Italy. I was touched that she is excited about welcoming Gaelic Speakers to come for conversation and she hopes to hear some Gaelic song burst forth. The space is absolutely beautiful. I know you will just love this cafe. The Fool's Fabric Boutique

The Boutique is located on a busy street at 142 Stellarton Road in New Glasgow, however all that busyness will soon evaporate as you walk through the door.

Nasa photo of beautiful Cape Breton Island and the big snow pile on the Valentines day. Mild winter revealed by lack of sea ice and Bras d’Or lakes are clear. The maple syrup is running and someone saw a pussywillow so we are close to Spring now!

Took a day trip to Tatamagouche. A very interesting historic area and part of the beautiful Sunrise Trail. Stopped at Lismore Farm Wool Shop for gorgeous natural sheep coloured wool and brought home a few Irish Stout from Tatamagouche Brewing. Ended the trip with a quick detour to Caribou Island.

So this happened: https://gaelictogo.com
I started me own Gaelic tourism business, Gaelic to Go Tours! This had been a long dream finally coming true. Back when I was thinking of coming home in 2008, I imagined my life at home. I love hanging with folks, love sharing my enthusiasm for our beautiful province and most beautiful Cape Breton Island, and love singing and sharing Gaelic culture. Tourism was calling me! Before the 'break' I had opened a Gaelic Gatherings space called Can Cala in March 2020 with Bradley Murphy at New Dawn Centre / Eltuek. Our new venture as a gathering space had to be closed because of lockdown, but I held the dream close in my heart. Now we can gather again.
Visitors are returning to our Island and now we can hold Gaelic tourism events and create wonderful attractions to share our culture and grow Gaelic and Gaelic economy.
