Driving tour 4K | Gardiner Expressway to Queen Elizabeth Way fall season, sunny day Toronto, Canada
The Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway also referred to as the Gardiner Expressway or just the Gardiner, is a municipal expressway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that is partially elevated and at grade. It stretches from the foot of the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) in the east, just after the Don River's mouth, to the intersection of Highway 427 and the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in the west, all of which are located near to Lake Ontario's shore.
The Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) connects Buffalo, New York, the Niagara Peninsula, and Toronto in the Canadian province of Ontario. The freeway starts at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie and circles Lake Ontario's western shore for 139.1 kilometers (86.4 mi) until coming to a finish at Highway 427 in Toronto. But the actual road continues as the Gardiner Expressway into Toronto's downtown. With an average of nearly 200,000 vehicles passing through various parts each day, the QEW is one of Ontario's busiest roadways. Highway 420 in Niagara Falls, Highway 405 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Highway 406 in St. Catharine's, the Red Hill Valley Parkway in Hamilton, Highways 403 and 407 in Burlington, and Highway 403 in the Oakville-Mississauga intersection are all major intersections.

Don Valley Parkway begins at an interchange with the Gardiner Expressway in downtown Toronto, close to the Don River's mouth. From there, it travels north on the valley's eastern bank, between the river and the built city to the east. The valley widens beyond the city's older, southern part, and the expressway continues north past riverside parks to Don Mills Road. After leaving the valley, the route ascends to reach Eglinton Avenue, goes down into the valley and then extends through Milne Hollow's parkland to Lawrence Avenue. When it reaches York Mills Road, it ascends, and it finishes at Highway 401.
