Flashback to our last Top-rope Meet-up of 2024 at the end of October. Crisp conditions, but everyone was stoked to be on the rocks, and the fall colours were still bright!

Flashback from last month climbing with an awesome group from Western Climbing Club. Everyone was super positive, cooperative, and stoked to try hard on the rocks! Even though it hailed briefly at lunchtime, I saw a bunch of climbers in T-shirts....at the end of October!

Kudos to the club executive who put a bunch of work into organizing the climbing day. I hope to see everyone at the cliff again soon!

Thanks everyone for another great season On The Rocks. Lots of wonderful memories and super fun climbing! Hope to see you out at the crag on a sunny winter day, or at the climbing gym. Next year's guiding season starts in early April...if not sooner!

And....clipped! Just wrapped up our last scheduled Outdoor Sport Lead Course of the season with three motivated climbers. A very enjoyable couple of days in beautiful, beautiful weather.

On The Rocks is at ALT. ROCK! Join PCGI Mentor and Lead Guide Will Gilbert this Monday, August 26, at ALT. ROCK in Barrie for their Boulder League kickoff! Should be a blast! There will be a short presentation at 7:30pm on outdoor climbing, courses and more. Bring your shoes and chalk bag and join the league!

A little Anchor Building Review at Metcalfe Rock last month. Building safe, efficient and stylish anchors is a key climbing skill, and the foundation for many more advanced techniques! Plus, it's probably the easiest way to get out climbing independently!

Who climbed it best? We had a lot of fun with this short, very 3-dimensional climb at the Full-day Intro to Outdoor Climbing at Metcalfe Rock on June 30.

Just another day On the Rocks!

Recently met up with long term OTR customer and now friend: "Frank the Tank", in the Red Rocks, Nevada. This clip was taken several hundred feet up on the chockstone tunnel pitch of Frogland, a 6 pitch 5.8. So cool to climb with Frank on his first ever multi-pitch routes!

On the Rocks is a rock climbing school based out of Thornbury, Ontario, Owned/Operated by Leslie Timms, a PCGI Certified Lead Guide and approved PCGI Mentor. Leslie is a graduate of the Outdoor Adventure Program at Algonquin College with almost 18 years of experience as an outdoor adventure guide. Leslie is also a professional climber representing Arc'teryx, La Sportiva, and Sterling Rope. All of our guides are fully certified professionals and offer rock climbing adventures, coaching & a variety of courses in both Milton and Collingwood, Ontario. We also offer PCGI Top Rope Guide and Single Pitch Guide Certification Courses across Ontario.
