Inspiration for our designs comes from our everyday experiences and interactions with the world around us - through travel, the antique markets we scour, and the naturally occurring textures and patterns in nature. The comfortable fit & feel of our products remains consiste

nt from season to season, however our bold and colorful patterns breathe new life into This Is J products each year. We design, dye, and hand print all of the textiles in our collection before transforming them into functional stylish fashion accessories. Our signature patterns are used throughout the entire collection to create the distinct This Is J look.

The Winter Sample Sale is here—a little holiday magic for your wardrobe, your wallet, and the environment! 💫⁠

Our Sample Sale was conceptualized to increase sustainability, lessen our environmental footprint, and eliminate waste from our manufacturing process. We have always been proudly 100% made in Canada. The handmade nature of our process can produce slight imperfections as well as one of a kind results along the way. This can happen in the dyeing, printing, and testing phases. Imperfections can include colour grading, printing pressure variations, patterns we test out, but never go into production with, and samples we use for photo shoots and media. Imperfections are not visible to most people except us, the people who create the products.⁠
⁠
Our Sample Sale also includes unreleased patterns. This allows us to play around with creating new patterns without the fear of waste. We know that even if we test out a pattern, but decide not to create a collection out of it, it will still find a cozy home with someone through our Sample Sale.⁠
⁠
