Went out fishing today in June-uary. Can't quite tell it's winter here. Perfect water conditions and beautiful weather. Got some sweet footage with the new GoPro. Thanks for the birthday/Xmas present, ma (Lesli Wiita) . First time getting to use it.
Also got to use the flasher that Rachel Tarrant/Jim gifted us from West Coast Fishing Tackle. Only thing different from each setup was the flasher and the Westcoast one outfished the classic hotshot moon jelly. Old faithful was ran on each side, crushed em. Lotta fish. Barely legals, handful of 8-10 and the odd ball monster for this time of year. Good times.

The new whip is in the water. Named after my late best friend/ pup. Re-wired, built a second helm, installed abunch of safety electronics and two fish Finders. Look out fish, we're coming for you this weekend. Took it out for the first rip around the harbor and it's a rocket ship. 35knots at cruising speed!

A very exciting announcement for Minnesota Charters.
We got an upgrade. A 26ft Grady white explorer. Going to be fishing in style next season. Our original boat has done us very very well and is still loved but it's time to lay her to rest. Time to join the Grady White club. Thank you everyone that has come out and fished with me and supported my small business to be able to make upgrades, like this.

Cruised offshore 25 miles to go after some sable fish aka black cod, one of our favourite fish to eat. Limits all around.
Beaut of a day and I finally wasn't chartering so me and the missus took advantage of the rare opportunity to make the run.

Crazy coho action when trolling between halibut and black cod spots. Lots of Pacific jack mackerel too but released to swim another day.

What a beaut of a day at Florencia this afternoon. Only boat around, catching tons of Chinook, all decent fish.
The squid are thick and a hoochie is what was the magic ticket with a flash fly coming in 2nd.

Fun fact, when you rub their tummies they calm down, much like the common man.

Love taking these two out (or 3 if you include the bun in the oven), it's always a great time, even if the fishing isn't that hot, we still got em and had a blast doing it. A double header of chonky Chinook helped shake the grind off the boat, controlled chaos. A nice variety of fish for trolling.

Had a blast out there today. 15 Chinook to the boat, 3 double headers A nice hali on the salmon troll Lots of nice ling cod and rockfish too, their days are numbered. New season started March 1st and it's been a blast so far.
