Some of my fellow agents from visited these locations and I am so happy to share some fabulous options for you.
We think the ocean should always be these beautiful shades of blue - don’t you?

Two of the properties we visited in Mexico are the Iberostar Selection Cancun and Coral Level Cancun. These properties sit together on Delfines beach, about 20 minutes from the Cancun airport. Iberostar Selection Cancun has 426 rooms, 10 pools, 5 specialty restaurants (plus buffet and snack bar), and 6 bars (including swim-up), as well as a spa, gym, kid’s camp, and golf course. The Coral Level has 156 rooms, an exclusive swimming pool and beach area, it’s own buffet, and access to everything at the other property. We loved the ocean views, spacious rooms, great pools, and the beautiful lobbies!

Pro honeymoon tip coming at you! 💍🥂

Before you pick your honeymoon location, consider the ratio of time you’ll spend traveling versus the time you’ll actually spend ON your honeymoon.

If you’ve only got a week to spend somewhere exotic and romantic with your sweetie to celebrate your new life together, take into consideration that some of the more far-flung destinations that are popular right now (I’m looking at you, Maldives!) also includes a pretty long flight, and possibly 2-3 connection flights depending on where you’re flying out from.

So what should you do?

I’m always a fan of spending as much time ON vacation as possible to make sure you can fully enjoy yourself and soak it all up before it’s time to head back to reality.

So if you can only carve out a week, I recommend exploring places closer to home.

But if you can carve out 10-14 days, even 3 weeks to a month, then far flung it is!

Either way, your itinerary should be tailored to the experience you want — that includes deciding how long you actually need to *truly* enjoy the full experience.

Set up a mini food challenge! Ask your travel advisor about some of the local dishes in the place you’ll be visiting, and set up a challenge to see who can try the most local foods.

It’s such a fun way to immersive yourselves in the local culture, and encourage the kids to try new things.

So many places to travel, and only 365 days in a year!
So how do you narrow it down? Ask yourself these four questions!

❓What do you not get enough of every day?
Some clients need rest, others want more adventure.

❓How much time do you have?
How many PTO days do you have, and how can you maximize them?

❓How much money can you spend?
An important consideration when deciding

❓What weather makes you happy?
Some like it hot, others need to escape the stifling humidity.

These questions are a great way to narrow down the list a little.

5 of my best tips to get you through yet another crazy travel year:

✈️ Book those flights well in advance. At least three to four months in advance for international trips and six to eight weeks for domestic trips.

🛫 Avoid basic economy fares. Friends don’t let friends book basic economy, and friends definitely don’t let friends end up with added fees and no chance of a refund in case plans need to change.

🔎 Avoid online travel agencies. I need a whole novel to cover all of the reasons, but the biggest one is the lack of consistency and care and the fact that you’re always at the bottom of the barrel when you book through an online travel agency.

✨ Look for added value. No surprises, travel is not as cheap as it once was, so finding ways to add value to your getaways is key. For example, working with a travel advisor is a great way to get access to better rates, promotions, extra perks, etc.

⏰ Give yourself maximum flexibility. Whether it’s booking the flex fare or refundable hotel rate or adding travel insurance (always have travel insurance!), give yourself lots of flexibility just in case things don’t go exactly as planned.

Any tips for getting through it?

When the weather gets cold here in Alberta and it’s time to take down the twinkle lights, there’s one thing I like to do:

And you guessed it, I get a trip on the calendar so I have something to look forward to!

Right now, we are considering a cruise where we can sit back, relax and visit different destinations all in one vacation.

And while I prep and get excited for that, I’m also going to treat myself to a spa and perhaps a couple of tropical beverages to keep the vacation vibes alive.

How do you get over that post-holiday slump?

How do you make the most of your travel budget? Allow me to show you the way:

✅ Don’t delay booking. Prices can fluctuate at the drop of a hat, so booking well in advance is a must.

✅ Have a plan. Have a general idea of how much you want to spend each day of your vacation so you can stay on track.

✅ Don’t fall for false advertising. Sometimes a travel deal looks just fine, but then you get to the fine print and realize it’s not as great as it seems. Keep an eye on the fine print for blackout dates and hidden fees.

✅ Work with a travel agent. I have access to offers and tons of value-added things that you won’t get when you book online through a third-party website.
